We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Purchasing Support Specialist to assist our life safety systems company in NYC with procurement processes. The Purchasing Support Specialist will be responsible for providing administrative support to the purchasing department, ensuring that all purchasing activities are carried out in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner.
Responsibilities
- Provide support to the purchasing department by managing vendor relationships and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services
- Process purchase orders and ensure that they are accurate and complete
- Track and monitor inventory levels and order materials as needed
- Follow up with vendors and suppliers to ensure that prices, discounts, terms, and delivery dates are met
- Analyze data and generate reports to help identify cost savings opportunities
- Maintain accurate records of purchases and receipts.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure efficient and effective procurement processes.
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Knowledge and Skills
- A degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in purchasing or procurement
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience with purchasing software and inventory management systems is a plus
